Ron was born Ronald Louis Parmentier, Jr., on August 17, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan, to Ronald and Shirley Cavacece Parmentier.
Ron joined the army and was stationed in Germany. Ron married Peggy, with whom he had a daughter.
Later, Ron moved to New York City, and eventually to his apartment at 178 Thompson Street, in Greenwhich Village, where he honed his craft and taught his famous jazz guitar lessons.
In the mid-2000's, Ron started performing live again, and was putting a band together to play out in the city and across the country. Several rehearsals and gigs were played in the Village.
Sadly, those plans were cut short due to a diagnosis of lung cancer. Ron passed away on May 7, 2007, at age 50. His memory is carried on by his many students, those musicians who he performed with, those people who heard his music, and his family and loved ones.
